I find that symbol "uncomfortable" for the same reasons I find the red star and the so-called "star of David" "uncomfortable". All of those represent governments which were/are adamantly opposed to the real Catholic faith and Church. I most certainly sympathize with the German people with regard to their desire to be free from Bolshevism and from anything having to do with apostate-Israel. After all, my ethnic makeup includes a truly lovely, truly Catholic, very German grandmother. Even so, I am NOT in sympathy with any of those forms of government, all of which are "socialists" and are therefore, as one of the (real) Popes told us, inherently evil. Israel is an additional problem, of course. As St. Paul told us, "...they are the enemies of the entire world."

That symbol represents the sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of German patriots who prevented the entirety of Europe from being overrun by Bolshevism. It makes me feel sad that their profound sacrifice, love of their deity (Gott Mit Uns) and their people and their freedom will likely never be known or realized by the vast majority of Earth's population.

It also reminds me of the four seasons, ursa major circling polaris and Mangi, the sign for temples in Japan and Korea. Hope that contributes something to the experiment.
