New arrows with feather fletchings arrived and already made the difference.
All my misses were pretty close.
First 6, you can see one in the box, top left, 4 in the tree-trunk, and one very narrowly missed the box and made a line down the side, see next image below.
the score on the box side is from the arrow.
the next six had three in near-enough the same area, you can see two of them and the unlabelled hole just above them where the other arrow went all the way through.
The most important lessons learned:
Feather fletchings absolutely make a difference. As I had already surmised, but is now confirmed.
having the right mental attitude is pivotal. The last three shots were 3/3 because I decided to really practice Zanshin properly. It simply can’t be skipped.

Great progress.
I fletch my own arrows; I found a big improvement was when I got a fletching tool to do spiral fletching. Fletching isn't really all that difficult to learn, and buying separate components and rolling your own, like reloading, can improve the quality while lowering the cost.
