How important it is to know the meaning of words. My, my! And it used to be called a "grammar" school. But that's just a coincidence, eh?

Seriously, tho, here's a very long and detailed article that lists organisations and papers and groups and people (and it's funny how the same people just keep showing up in all these different groups and dinners) and that shows how clever people either change the definition of words or make up new ones that sound good but don't mean what YOU think they mean, e.g. Federal Reserve, which is neither. Allegedly.

E.g. "Stranded Assets", seems to mean "assets that YOU think belong to YOU, but I prefer they belonged to ME, and now they do. Because I said so." (I may be oversimplifying. DYOR.)

https://escapekey.substack.com/p/the-rosetta-stone goes into a deep dive on how the word "ethics" has been subtly and rather secretly (yet also out in the open if you've got eyes or the time to see it) changed.

Illuminating.
