Venetian Wit
Driving with the eldest daughter, she put on some classical music by Chopin. Spring sonata or something. I like it so ask what it is.
Scorpio Girl: Cho-pin (pronounced like Cho and a pin, like a hat pin)
Me: Chopin (pronounced correctly as Showpen). It’s French.
SG: And I’m not.
It made me smile.

Buon sangue non mente.
Good blood doesn’t lie.
The mix of not being moved in our view just because the rest of the world has a different one, and the speed at which that healthy instinct plays out even without conscious thought made me proud.

Nice. Anytime something mildly unfortunate happens to someone, I should start saying, “It could be worse. You could be French.”
Her response made me chuckle. The kids are gonna be alright.
