“You got married in the middle of the road!”

So, a few times now, Aryan Girl (3) has stated with absolute confidence and quite more than a little disgust that I and her mother got married “in the middle of the road!”

She comes up with really weird things so we assumed this was just another of them.

For example last night we were at the park and as it started to become dusk, out of the blue, she says: “It’s getting dark quite soon for summer.” And there is not anyone she could have heard that from at any time recently.

But also yesterday we found the end of that mystery. I had made a cup with some pictures on it for the wife some time back and this is one of them:

The wife was making a coffee and once again, AG said: “Yes, daddy! (Waving little hand accusingly) and you are married to mommy but you got married in the middle of the road!” Waving her hand at the picture on the cup.

But based on the cropped version she assumed the trees in the background are the ones near the school her siblings go to, which in fairness are indeed along a road.

We, of course, being the kind of parents we are, haven’t corrected her about this.

It will make for a better rags to riches story.
